Canada Shuts Out TandT 1-0

Canada's Men's Youth Team (Under-20) earned their second straight win over the Trinidad and Tobago Under-23 squad, Wednesday with a 1-0 win at Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, Trinidad.

After winning 3-0 on Monday, Canada scored its only goal in the 68th-minute when Chris Lemire beat goalkeeper Daurance Williams with a shot from inside the 18-yard box that came off the bar before entering the net.

Canadian goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic earned the shutout.

Canada lost the services of Kevin Harmse with a head wound following a collision in the 31st minute. He was substituted by Derek Wilson.

"At the end of a demanding trip, the boys did not have their legs in the first half," said Canadian head coach Dale Mitchell. "However they played some good soccer in the second half and were rewarded with a well taken goal."

Canada: Srdjan Djekanovic, Andres Arangao, Winston Marshall, Elliott Godfrey, Kevin Harmse (Derek Wilson, 32), Sita-Taty Matondo (Gavin Hobbs, 45), Waldemar Dutra (Nicola Blicharski, 45), Jason DiTullio, Josh Simpson, Gordon Chin (Ryan Gyaki, 75), Chris Lemire. Head coach: Dale Mitchell.
