But, maybe there's some combined PAL/NTSC vcr around here

You have 3 options:

a) you buy a multi-zone vcr (expensive)
b) you find a video store who will make the conversion for you (less expensive)
c) you jump on a plane and make your way to my house for the game...

Good price, such machines here are more expensive...let's move to Norway!

Yes, new vcr are able to play (only to play) north-american ntsc tapes
My collegue in Belgium (2-2) has one, I don't think he bouht it especially for this option
North-american vcr aren't able to read Pal tapes...
