Tony Fonseca is leaving his job as head coach of the Vancouver Whitecaps to take a position as full-time director of a new series of development centres.
The Whitecaps and the B.C. Soccer Association said Monday they have formed a new partnership to develop players through a district development centre program. Forseca will be the technical director for the program, which will operate regionally throughout BC.
The goal of the programs is to better develop players for selection to provincial and national teams, plus the Whitecaps men's and women's teams.
