It wasn't fanstastic, pretty or great, but it was three well-earned points. Alta, by most papers recond to be one of the weakest teams in the division, started the game with a shot just wide after only 15 seconds, giving the home crowd a bit of a shock. Even though papers recond Alta to be fighting against relegation this year, I will not be surprised if the manage to stay. They play as a team, fighting good and hard.

After the opening shocker, the game settled with Moss as the better team, but Alta came on strong with a couple of dangerous visits in front of the Moss' goal. Patrice Bernier had a good shot after 9 minutes, but the shot was blocked by a defender. Then, in the 33. minute, Alta got ahead after a rather strange goal. A defensive mistake from Moss gave an Alta player the chance, and when the goalie couldn't get more than a couple of fingers on the ball, it rolled slowly into the net. What a bummer! 5 minutes later Moss got the equalizer from Gard Kristiansen, today Moss' best player. They were pushing hard on the Alta defense, and Gard managed to get the kick right. And we could celebrate the first goal of the season. Later in first half, Patrice had a nice raid, penetrating the midfield and mid defense of Alta, but were stopped in the end. First half ended 1 - 1.

Second half went on pretty much like the first, with Moss in the drivers seat. But we had to wait until the 64. minute. Moss got a free-kick 25 m. from the Alta goal, a bit on the right side. The shot was blocked, but the ball came to Patrice on the left/center. With a beautiful cross pass, he reached Vidar Martinsen on the right, and Vidar shot Moss in the lead 2 - 1!! The rest of the game was a safe journey to victory, with just a couple of opportunities on both sides.

Patrice Bernier played OK, varying from exellance to not so good. He made some bad passes, lost the ball a few times, but I would say he did OK. If he can stabilise his game, and jerk out the "weed", he will be a really good player. He has clearly got the eye for the game, intelligent passes, hard working and good technical skills.

As I said; it wasn't pretty today, but we won, and our number 1 rival, Fredrikstad lost against Raufoss, so let's put away the estethic scores and enjoy our 3 points.

That's all folks! Take care everyone!

That is correct, Francois. Friend got a 2 game suspension after recieving a red card in a pre-season game. It looks like he is needed in our offensive play too. If the coach chooses to use him, he will be in the starting line-up against Bærum on Sunday.

The local paper gave Patrice 3 points after yesterdays game. They were obviously not to satisfied with his performance. A bit harsh judgement in my opinion, but maybe the reporter has got high expectations for him, and was a bit dissapointed in him. He did make some mistakes, but he also showed proof of really good quality. His style is very much on the edge, geniously when sucsessful, but sometimes dangerous when he fails. Have in mind that he plays defensive midfield, and if he advances and then lose the ball, it leaves an empty space behind him for the opponent to take advantage of.

Defensive midlfield is definitely not his best spot.

Last year too, Patrice would go around 2 players and pass the ball to an opponent :?...

I agree! I would like to see him play offensive midfield. His passes are sometimes brilliant, and in a position a bit behind the 2 forwards, he could be a real assist-king, and be in position to fire shots himself more often. Let's hope the coach can see this also.....
