Despite Prison, Indonesian FA Head Keeps Job

Despite the fact that president Nurdin Halid has been sent to prison, the Indonesian Football Association has no plans to replace him

Halid was found guilty last week of misusing over $18 million in funds and was sentenced to two years in prison.

"So far we have not decided on anything, including convening an extraordinary congress to discuss the issue," an association spokesman Mafirion told AFP.

"We are sticking to our basic guidelines, which say that if the chairman cannot perform his functions, the vice-chairman takes over," he said.

With Halid preparing a final appeal against the decision, the governing body will wait and see what happens.
