USL's Fox Sports World Schedule announced
16-week broadcast schedule unveiled

TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Tuesday its Fox Sports World broadcast schedule for the 2005 season. The 20-show broadcast package incorporates 16 straight weeks of USL action from June 17 to October 1.
The package, in its fourth year on Fox Sports World, includes weekly regular season matches every Friday night, every USL league championship game and a Super Y-League Finals & USL Season Wrap-Up Show.
“We are excited to continue our relationship with Fox Sports World,” said USL Vice President Tim Holt. “We are expecting an outstanding 2005 season and look forward to once again bringing it to our fans on North America’s premier soccer channel.”
The broadcast schedule opens June 17 with a matchup of regional rivals with the Charleston Battery playing host to the Richmond Kickers. Richmond captured the season series last year with a 2-1-1 record against the Battery.
The championship portion of the schedule opens with the W-League Championship live from Trenton, New Jersey on Sunday, August 7. The 2004 regular season champion and championship finalist New Jersey Wildcats will play host to the championship weekend.
A week later, the Premier Development League will crown its champion Saturday, August 13
The USL Second Division Championship will be broadcast from Saturday, August 27.
The USL First Division regular season broadcast schedule comes to a close Friday, September 9 with the Puerto Rico Islanders playing host to the Toronto Lynx.
For the second straight year, second-leg matchups from USL First Division playoff action will be shown live with a Quarterfinal game Sunday, September 18 and a Semifinal game Sunday, September 25. The USL First Division Championship will air live Saturday, October 1. All championships, excluding the W-League, will be held at the site of one of the finalists.
