LONDON, Jul 11 (SW) - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had admitted to the frustration of trying to work in the summer transfer market with the ever-growing shadow of Premiership champions Chelsea in the background.

“We are in a market where you have to let Chelsea make decisions and then make your decision,” said a frustrated Wenger.

“There is a price for Chelsea and there is a price for everybody else. You have to wait for them... It's frustrating but it's a fact.”

Speaking with reporters, Wenger was also somewhat surprised about the lack of transfer activity to have taken place thus far this summer.

“It's been very quiet. The market has been much quieter than expected, it hasn't really started.

“Everyone is in the starting blocks... and with the heat of my phone it looks like it will start soon.”

The Frenchman was also confident that despite their lack of financial power, Arsenal would still be a force to be reckoned with in the up-coming season.

“We are behind (in the transfer market) but no matter who Chelsea will buy, no matter who everybody else buys, it is down to us to come back strong and fight for the championship,” he concluded.
