Al-Qaida voulait attaquer pendant le Mondial
Un membre senior du réseau terroriste Al-Qaida a indiqué aux autorités américaines que le groupe avait l'intention d'attaquer au Japon lors du dernier Mondial de soccer.
Les autorités américaines ont avisé les Japonais à ce propos. Les aveux viendraient du troisième officier du groupe terroriste, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, a rapporté le quotidien Sankei, citant des sources gouvernementales anonymes.
Les attaques n'auraient pas été perpétrées parce que Al-Qaida n'a pas de réseau établi au Japon, qui a accueilli le dernier Mondial conjointement avec la Corée du Sud.
Mohammed a habité au Japon pendant trois mois en 1987, période au cours de laquelle il a étudié les infrastructures de forage.
Mohammed, un des cerveaux des attaques du 11 septembre, a été capturé en mars dernier au Pakistan par les douanes américaines.

Premiership giants Arsenal have barred Bin Laden from the ground after discovering that the terrorist leader is a big fan of the club.
"We've seen the reports in the papers. Clearly he wouldn't be welcome at Highbury in the future," said a club spokesman.
According to revelations in a new biography of the world's most wanted man, Bin Laden became fanatical about the team in the 1990s when he was staying in the capital.
Die-hard Arsenal fans in Highbury's famous Clock End could have possibly once sat next to the man who is blamed for the 11 September terrorist attacks.
