Moss - Oslo Øst September 17. 2003
I've been down so god damn long, that this looks up to me!
Our new coach got a good start on his first game last Sunday, and they followed up today with a very well earned victory against Oslo Øst. In my opinion the team played their best game so far this season. But it took some time before they "popped her open", if I may say so. The visitors from Oslo, in even more need of points than Moss, stated in front of this game that they were more than happy if they could manage 1 point in this game, and their game was played accordingly. Lot of people in defense, hoping for a cheap earned goal on a occasional counter-strike. But they couldn't last the whole way in. Moss produced one brilliant attack after another, but we had to wait until aprox 75'th minute before we could "let it all come out" with joy over Ødegaards 1-0 goal! If they had scored earlier in the game, I believe that the victory would have been even greater. Because after Ødegaards goal, Oslo Øst had to play more offensive football, wich again gave Moss much more space to move on. So, in the 87'th minute Fredriksen got in good position 15 metres from Oslo Øst goal and his shot was executed perfectly behind the goalie. Good for Fredriksen who had a shot in the crossbar just minutes before. Patrice Bernier got the "man of the match" title from the local paper, and I agree, even though the supporter club named Kristiansen their favourite player of the match. Patrice could and should have scored after 15 minutes of the second half, when he had a 100% opportunity from 7 metres, but his volley-shot went high. But he wasn't the only Moss' player who missed on these type of chances today. With a normal pay-off from the opportunities we had today, we should have won 5 or 6 to nothing.
But still; 2 - 0 was a great relief anyhow!
Sunday 21'st we meet Hødd at home. With 3 points in that game we will pass them on the fixture, so this is an important one! I'll be back!

I'm sorry, but my report was written in the middle of the night, so I was a bit tired and forgot to mention that Rob was suspended after receiving his third yellow card last match against Raufoss. He'll be back on Sunday when we meet Hødd at home.

Way to go Patrice!
Man of the match, now that's good to see. Good to see Moss playing better. I guess no more camping in Moss this year! 8)

There's a totally new "go" in the team since they got a new coach. He is a man who demands loyalty and discipline. One of the first new rules under his regime was "keep the dressingroom tidy" along with "comb your hair before you leave the dressingroom", "no swearing", "act like gentlemen". Now they have to stretch out after practice and matches, and after the game against Oslo Øst they had to jog down to relieve themselves of body-acids. While the supporters cheared at them!

Good to hear !
...It sounds like a coaching change is what the team needs (besides a few more crazy Canucks !)
With the season coming to a close and a new coach, what do you think will happen to Friend and Bernier ? A major factor will be if they can remain in the Frist Division.
Bernier has had a strong season and I wonder if he will be in Premier division next season, regardless of whether Moss can stay in the First ?
What is your prediction on Freind ? Will he remain at Moss next season ?

Christ! I just wrote you a long, and if I may say so, a very well formulated answer to your questions, Winnipeg Fury, but suddenly all my perfectly sorted letters dissappered into cyberspace. So you'll have to settle with this unsophisticated answer: Yes, if someone pay Moss the right price for Bernier, they will sell him I'm afraid. Fredrikstad, who might play in the Premier Division next year (I sincirerly don't hope so, bastards!), have allrady been snoopin' on Patrice. And I do believe other clubs in Norway have noticed him as well.
Friend needs to perform on a high level for a longer period before anyone gives Moss an offer for him. In my oppinion. And for what it's worth...
I hope we can keep both Bernier and Friend next year, along with our two U-21 nationals Brenne and Kristiansen. Then we will aim for Premier Division next season. And we will NOT be relegated this year!
I'll say the chance of Bernier playing for a Premier Division team next year is 50/50. Friend.....no percentage given....but naaaa....I don't think so.

Perfect !
A great response as usual ! Always informative. Thank-you very much for your regular posts.
I too hope that both players remain with Moss. Many Canadian fans have been following the club now that you have two potential Canadian national team players.
If Moss do sell Bernier, I hope they replace him with another Canuck !

Re: Perfect !
Hey! Feel free to give us a tip on talented, not to expensive players! Players in the same category as Bernier and Friend, or coming stars. It's not like I have a hotline to the man in charge, but I can always pass on the information.Winnipeg Fury a écrit :

You want a goalie ?
The goalie for the Montreal Impact, Greg Sutton was named the A-League goalie of the year, and MVP for the Montreal Impact. He's at least 6'5 in height and 26 years old.
I have no doubt he could play at the Premier level of both Norway and Sweden.

Our keeper, Greg Sutton is not signed for next year. He wants to see what's out there. I think he could make it in Europe. He's still young and has a lot of talent. We have a young wing back, David Fronimadis who could probably complement Braz...I could be his agent...I only charge 10% commission...Robban B a écrit :Hey! Can I also have a few tips? We need a half decent keeper, wing backs, a central midfielder in the Roy Keane mould (read psycho) and somone who can score regularly for us, about 20 goals in a season.
I'd prefer if we could get all those for around 100$, any takers?
