It look's good to me!
OK, it was only a friendly-game, but these games against Fredrikstad are very important for us supporters. As you all know Moss had a rather horrible season last year, and the river-rats from Fredrikstad was blessed with a warm breeze from behind wich lead them to the premier division. Sometimes life's a bitch, you know.
After a couple of slow minutes in the beginning of todays game, Moss owned the first half totally. Counting 6 to 1 in good opportunities in favour of Moss. But it was Fredrikstad who scored the first goal of the match when they managed to nail the one single decent chance the had during the first half. Out on the field it was Moss, Moss, Moss. Lead by a shining and surprisingly light-footed Patrice Bernier, considering the heavy training period they are experiencing these days, Moss had the moves, the tackles, initiativ and heart all the way. Rob Friend sat on the bench during this first half, but he came out on the field when second half started.
In the beginning of the second half Fredrikstad was allowed into the game for 10 minutes or so, but then Moss said stop, and took over like they did in the first half. Some 15 minutes into the second half, Moss was rewarded with a penalty. Sakkariassen did not make any mistakes and we had equalized. 15 minutes later it was Rob Friend who brought Moss in the lead with a superb volley after recieving a nice cross-ball from the right. Supporters went wild and Rob came running towards us with his jersey over the head. Then Patrice was taken off, but not because he'd played a weak game, he was outstanding. A couple of minutes before the ref blew his final whistle-tone, Gard Kristiansen nailed the coffin with a nice toe-shot that went via the pole into the goal. Final result 3-1.
As I wrote towards the end of last years season, there is a totally new spirit and seriousness in the team now, compared to one year ago. Coach Mattsson, who came in as new head coach at the end of last season, has changed a lot. Rob Friend was quoted in the paper a couple of days ago, saying the team, and specially the daily trainings, are someting totally different now. Mattsson has brought the team up to another level of professionalism.
This might turn out to be one of the best seasons for the club in many years. Let's hope so. If we can get the promotion to the premier division, where we belong, this year, and if Patrice and Rob can keep up with their good play, things can happen for both the club and their personal carreers.
See ya all!
