Peter Schaad, who will call the play-by-play for the Whitecaps, brings more than 10 years of on-air experience and more than 17 years as a soccer coach. In 2002, Peter provided the colour commentary for the Whitecaps games on TEAM 1040 and last year he was heard on FOX Sports World and the Whitecaps This Week television show. In addition to the play-by-play, Peter will host a 60-minute weekly soccer show Whitecaps World of Soccer featuring Whitecaps news, pre-game and post-game reports, plus local and international soccer updates. Whitecaps World of Soccer will air every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on the TEAM 1040. When not at the soccer pitch, Peter produces the Terry & Tara Morning Show on QMFM, while also teaching broadcast arts at Columbia Academy.

Next to Peter will be Alan Errington with the colour commentary. Alan brings an enormous wealth of soccer knowledge to the broadcast, having coached for nearly 30 years, including stints as an assistant coach with the Canadian National Team and Vancouver 86ers. In 2004, Alan was inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame with the 1989 Vancouver 86ers team and received the B.C. Soccer Association Coach of the Year award in 2003. Alan also played for the Whitecaps Reserve Team from 1978-1981.

Jeff Leyland, who can be found on TEAM 1040 AM during the week and Citytv on the weekend, will be the sideline reporter and host of the pre-game and post-game show.

Finally, ’Caps Corner will make its debut this weekend on Citytv at 2:00 p.m. Citytv’s Breakfast Television co-host, Shane Foxman, will host.

Vancouver semble être l'équipe canadienne avec la meilleure couverture médiatique.
