A very fine victory yesterday, three points well earned. We managed to preserve the fine play from the Gefle game, and so we opened very brightly pushing Forward back from the first start.
Halfway through the first half, Forward counterattacked very quickly and promptly scored from what basically was their first shot at goal. Kind of hard to see what happened as we were standing on the other side of the pitch behind Forward's keeper. VSK kept pushing and shortly after Forwards goal, one of our midfielders scored when he curved a free-kick round the wall and past their keeper. The same player was then on hand a few minutes later to score again when he was left with an open goal after some brilliant dribbling by one of his midfield colleagues.
Halftime came and went. VSK started the second half much as they had finished the first, neat passing and pace all over the pitch. One of our attackers took the ball at the halfway line, no Forward player was challenging so he kept going until he was about 25 metres from goal when he hit a ferocius shot which left the Forward keeper clutching for thin air, 3-1 to us. I stupidly relaxed a bit after this, I really should have known better...
After a few minutes after our goal, Forward got a penalty after one our of defenders handballed, to be fair that was a correct decision by the otherwise crap referee. Our keeper "read" the penalty well and managed to save it but left a rebound straight to a Forward player. I had the time to think f*** before our keeper managed to save the rebound as well! Wild celebrations ensued among the travelling supporters... After that the game practically died, Forward couldn't muster anything more and VSK just waited for the final whistle.
Braz is impressing more and more, he is so calm and confident. Plays a very simple game, not trying to do any fancy stuff. Here's a link to some videofootage if you have RealPlayer installed: http://svt.se/svt/road/Classic/departme ... 42&a=83418
Next game is away against Falkenberg on sunday. Won't be going, it simply is too darn far away - 500 km one-way. Falkenberg is one of the promoted teams from div2 and are currently dead last so hopefull for three new points.
