Mostly to be effective you have to take just the last chorus from a particularly anthemic pop song and loop it. No song has enough constant dynamics to be rousing from intro to outro, except for punk and metal songs that would only please a small group of the public and players.
Just the "whoa-oa-oa" part from Wake Up was pretty effective when they used to use it for the Habs.
Just looping the intro from "Where the streets have no name" worked well too.
The outro from "One Day Like This" by Elbow would work well IMO.
