Je pense pas qu'il faut aller beaucoup plus loin que 1 Million pour Del Piero. Pour le faire venir à Montréal, il suffit de faire venir Trezeguet en même temps.

Je pensais bien que Bernier serait sur place quand j'ai vu son père, mais il a été très muet au sujet de Patrice et il s'est contenté de dire qu'il jouait dimanche et revenait au Québec mercredi...

On va espérer que l'Impact le signe, ce serait vraiment bien côté marketing et sur le terrain.

I had the privilege of talking with Nick de Santis a couple of hours ago at the MLS Jersey unveiling. Being that I am of Portuguese origins, I was curious about the Impact's trips to Portugal. Nick told me they stayed in the north of Portugal close to FC Porto's stadium (and watched 6 games over a weekend) and that they are looking at potentially signing a DP from the Portuguese league (he said no other MLS team has looked at Portugal yet and there are some opportunities). He didn't want to divulge names but did say that there is some pressure to sign a DP (from upper management?) but that they would only do it if the player came in with the right intentions. According to him the DP would have to be willing to teach and mentor the younger players. Makes sense to me.

Well he doesn't have to be from Porto as there a lot of teams in Portugal that are a short drive from one another and he did say they saw six games.

I can't think of anyone from Porto that would fit DP. Potentially if they are looking for a striker, you have Nuno Gomes on Braga who is on a one year contract. Pedro Mendes is another bigger name potentially available. Joan Capdevila is on Benfica and not playing and may be looking to get out of there. That's all I can think of, but it's just speculation.
