Vancouver se dote d'une équipe réserve

Message par Bxl Boy »

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC Director of Soccer Operations, Bob Lenarduzzi, today announced the Whitecaps Reserve team program. The Whitecaps Reserve team is the next step to professional, national and collegiate opportunities.

“The reserve teams are an important addition to the Whitecaps family,” said Whitecaps Director of Youth Programs, Dan Lenarduzzi. “The reserve teams will help bridge the gap between the Whitecaps Super Y Teams and the Men’s and Women’s professional teams.”

The Men’s and Women’s Reserve team (ages U18 to U21) will play in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL) for the 2005 season. The PCSL is a premier summer league circuit that will provide the Whitecaps reserve squads with top level competition across BC and into Washington State from April through August.

The reserve teams’ season, which runs parallel to the Whitecaps Men's and Women's professional teams, will allow for the opportunity of player “call ups” for training and games based on performance and opportunity. In addition, the strong partnership that the Whitecaps have with the British Columbia Soccer Association (BCSA) and the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) means that CSA coaches will be monitoring player performances in training and games. The reserve teams are also a great environment for players attending university in the fall to continue their development at a high level of soccer.
