The Mariners recently signed defender Mike Kirmse from the Syracuse Salty Dogs. He made his debut for Virginia Beach in the 82nd minute in Charleston on Tuesday night. The Flushing, N.Y. native is 31 years of age, 5-9 and weighs 170. He has won three A-League championships with Rochester and has played in Germany for FSV Salmrohr. He is well-known around the League for his flip throws.

Forward Dante Washington sat out Tuesday night’s match with Charleston due to a groin pull. It is expected that he will be fit for Sunday’s match. Midfielder Daniel Alvarez was injured in Tuesday night’s match, suffering from a hamstring pull. He should also be fit for Sunday.
